The Sri Lanka Dental Association is the national and the parent body of the dental profession in Sri Lanka. Since its formulation in 1933, the SLDA has been contributing immensely to the development of the profession as well as the welfare of the public of Sri Lanka.
It gives me much pleasure to send this message to the SLDA Web page.

At the outset, I am indebted to the membership for having reposed confidence in me, and having elected me as the 79th President of the SLDA which thus requires me to lead the Dental Profession of my country. I consider this an honour, and assure you that I will, to the best of my ability, defend and uphold the Constitution of the SLDA, and the standards and practices that have been passed down to me, from my predecessors.
From its modest beginnings as a small professional body, the SLDA has grown over the years to become a body of widely- spread professionals. The vast strides we have witnessed in dentistry, have taken our profession from its humble beginnings to the position of being one of the most important professional bodies in this country. This makes our task all the more significant.
My vision for the next year is to continue all the existing projects of the SLDA. In addition, I intend to commence a membership-drive to attract the recent graduates. I believe that the youth are the final strength of our future, and it is imperative that they be given all the support and encouragement, if the future of our profession is to be sustained. I earnestly hope that this Web page will continue to grow and be a source of education and information to our members and the public at large. I wish the editorial Board every success.
I assure you of my best endeavours and look forward to a fruitful and meaningful partnership.
