Dear Sir,
I need to do a root filling for one of my upper premolars. I'm living overseas and my dentist advised me to do it ASAP, but it's very expensive here. So I'm thinking of coming down to Colombo for the procedure. May I pls know how many days the entire procedure will take, and how much it will cost there?
Would be much appreciated.

Dear Natalie,

Root canal treatment can be completed in a single visit or in multiple visits depending on the situation of your tooth. It will be safe to allow about 2 weeks for a multivisit treatment although it may differ. If you wish to get treated at a government hospital, please note that sometimes there may be a waiting list.

After completing your root canal treatment, it is generally necessary to protect your tooth with a crown and many dentists will prefer to do this procedure sometime after the root canal treatment is done.

Cost varies from place to place in the private sector.
