Dear Paul, Dental fluorosis can be treated with a number of modalities depending on the severity. Some of the options available are, bleaching, micro/macro abrasion of enamel and veneering (porcelain and composite). Milder cases can be treated easily with bleaching and micro/macro abrasion or with both. More severe mottling may need veneering of teeth. Porcelain veneers offer a more aesthetic, life-like appearece with longer colour stability but are more costly compaired to composite direct veneers. Florosis is a common problem is Sri Lanka and the dentists are well aware of the management stratergies. You may seek treatment with any of the government or private institutions in Sri Lanka. As a matter of policy, the SLDA does not recommend a particular member for treatment for any procedure.
